Rule of Thirds
This is a three minute video that explains the rule and demonstrates how applying the rule of thirds will make your photographs more interesting.
You will all have multiple jobs. You should sign up for three jobs that interest you most. You will also have additional class responsibilities to fulfill for class.
oversee the production/creation of the athletics pages
assign photographers to take photos
assign layout person to design the pages
make sure that deadlines are met (you will have to check pages, nag people, help them get what they need to complete the pages)
assign peer evaluation/editing of completed pages
All section editors will be graded based on timely completion of the pages you are responsible for. You will have to interview with me (Damlich) if you are interested in one of these positions. You will also be required to do some record keeping (I will provide the forms).
Photographers
Responsibilities: (with Damlich's support)
Take photos of events, activities, people, that you are assigned
Understand that many of the events and activities that you have to photograph are after school
You will receive points/credit for each event you photograph
You may have to photograph things that you are not interested in-but understand--that is your job!
Follow protocols for checking out and returning cameras:
sign camera book
return camera the next day
fill in the photo log when you return the camera briefly describing the photos so I can give you credit
take good care of the cameras--you are responsible for them!
Layout/Page Designers
Responsibilities: (with Damlich's support)
arrange photos in an attractive layout on the page
the photos you use should be equitable--and include a wide variety of people (not only you and your friends)
find and adapt a template to accomplish your goal
include all the essential elements from the rubric for your page such as title, names, quotes, copy (consult the rubric for your section)
consult with the writers for a page title and additional text and copy
You will receive points based on:
completion of tasks
quality of work
meeting of deadlines
Writers

write text for pages as assigned by the section editors
help with developing creative headlines
edit and proofread the writing of pages
gather quotes and interview people
you will receive points based on these tasks
General Worker Bees
Responsibilities: (with Damlich's support)
gather information for completing yearbook pages
distribute information to students
get things done!
you will receive points for completing various tasks
